Most incontinence underwear will quote a ‘working capacity’ depending on movement, fit, and activity. You may also see a ‘Maximum Absorbent Capacity’ measured under standardised laboratory conditions.

‘Working capacity’ is around 40–50% of ‘Maximum Absorbent Capacity’. ISO standards refer to maximum capacity, sometimes reaching 3,000–6,000 mL in disposable products only.

Most reusable underwear holds 50ml–250ml — suitable for light to moderate leakage or one small accident. For higher capacity needs, inserts or changeable pads may be required.

One adult pee/wee can be 200–500 ml. Some products hold a full bladder, but most reusable underwear is designed for small leaks or one small accident. For heavy incontinence, choose high-absorbency disposables.

Yes — they absorb small leaks or unexpected urination. They are not nappies and cannot hold a full bladder or multiple accidents. Carry a spare and store used pairs in a dry bag for hygiene.
